SATURDAY SEPT 12TH
11AM - 8PM
2612 WYONMING ST 63118
Street soccer is played the world over by anyone and everyone. In St. Louis, street soccer is played by men and women who are homeless or formerly homeless.
St. Louis Roadies Street Soccer Club was formed seven years ago under the auspices of Peter & Paul Community Services, a leading non-profit agency in St. Louis committed to finding solutions to homelessness. Since that time, over 130 players have graced the Roadie roster. Two-thirds of those who have participated in the program have ended their homelessness for good and regained their independence.
What is street soccer exactly?
In tournament and league competition, four-on-four teams play 14-minute games on an enclosed surface about the size of a tennis court. Games are exciting, fast paced, often high scoring and, most of all, fun.
Street soccer becomes a window to an array of services offered by PPCS. Roadie players have moved into their own apartments, found jobs, attended financial planning classes, graduated college, received mental health counseling, resolved legal matters and reconnected with family.
Sports for Social Change Program
In March of 2012 Peter & Paul Community Services purchased Garfield Elementary School in Benton Park West. Renovations began in 2013 to convert the school into apartments for chronically homeless men and women and a day center for men and women who are homeless and living with HIV. An official street soccer mini pitch was created on the parking lot of the facility as part of the agency’s Sports for Social Change Program. Our long term goal to offer street soccer to youth and people of all ages who would otherwise not have an opportunity to play organized sports is now being realized. Today the St. Louis Roadies are partnered with
New Dimensions, St. Cecelia's and Mosaic as well as Pick Up St. Louis. Each of these organizations are committed to utilizing soccer for social change in St. Louis and we encourage you to support their tremendous programs!
On September 12, 2015 the Roadies will host a 4 V 4 tournament at Garfield Commons to support our Sport For Social Change Program. Imagine having fun with your friends and family playing "the beautiful game" while raising money for a worthy cause. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, click

The 2015 Homeless World Cup in Amsterdam!
This September over 50 teams from around the globe will participate in the annual Homeless World Cup held this year in Amsterdam. This year's national team will be organized by partner agency Street Soccer USA who also organizes the US National Tournament in San Francisco. With any luck, one of our own Roadie players may be given an opportunity to play for the national team this September.
