Peter & Paul Community Services’ Transitional Housing Program assists up to 10 homeless men in setting goals, learning living skills, establishing a regular income and savings plan, and moving into independent living each year.

The Community CollabARTive, a component of the Transitional Housing Program, provides a creative and challenging way for our clients to see what they are capable of accomplishing.

The primary goal of the Collaborative is to give homeless individuals an opportunity to document their individual journeys from homelessness to independent living through a variety of artistic mediums.

At the same time, the CollabARTive encourages relationships, reflection, and renewal.

While working on projects together, clients share their many struggles with one another. A brotherhood is formed in which each man sees himself as responsible for not only himself but his peers as well.

Both clients and staff participate together as equals in the program. As a result, staff bond with clients and build strong and enduring relationships. This bond is effective in that it serves the larger goal of on-going support and re-entry into the community.

In its 8th year, the Community CollabARTive could not exist without the support of the Regional Arts Commission and the Missouri Arts Council, its primary funders.
