Webster University

In Spring of 1987 Bob Corbett (philosophy professor at Webster University) and Jane Corbett were organizing a dinner once a month for the Meals Program at Sts. Peter and Paul Community Services. At the time Holy Redeemer Parish sponsored the meal. I helped out a few times when Bob suggested to me that I try to organize the Webster University community to offer a meal once a month. At first this seemed like a big commitment but we tried it and never looked back.

Webster has provided dinner for the clients at St. Peter and Paul Community Services since then. Our night is the first Monday after the 11th of each month.

When we first started we were serving about 50 people a month. Now we serve about 200 people in a month. Through the years a Webster faculty and staff have volunteered almost every month. Several Webster faculty have brought students from their classes to help out. Athletic coaches have made it a priority that their athletes be a part of our team as well. Some students come regularly and others just once or twice.
A great number of faculty and staff have donated money to provide the dinner we are able to serve our guests.

In December each year we host a special holiday party. The evening includes music, gifts and pictures with Santa.

Webster University is proud and happy to be able to offer this small service to people who need our help.
